Barry Allred (Ohio State Univ.)

 
 

Barry Allred is an Agricultural Engineer with the USDA/ARS – Soil Drainage Research Unit and is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering Department at Ohio State University.  He received his B.S degree in Geology from Oklahoma State University in 1980, a first M.S. degree in Geology (geophysics emphasis) from Northern Illinois University in 1986, a second M.S. degree in Geology (hydrogeology emphasis) from Western Michigan University in 1987, and a Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1995.  Prior employment experience includes working as a geophysicist in the petroleum industry and as a hydrogeologist with an environmental consulting firm and a state government agency.  Dr. Allred’s research interests involve application of near-surface geophysical methods to agriculture, agricultural water recycling systems, and laboratory hydraulic/mechanical property and contaminant transport testing.
