After working as an industrial electrical
and electronic engineer for over fifteen years, Nigel studied
for a BSc Hons Degree in Geophysics at Liverpool University,
U.K., graduating in 1997. He then moved to Keele University,
Staffordshire, U.K. where, in 2001, he completed his PhD on the
‘Mathematical Modelling of Near-Surface Ground Penetrating
Radar’. Since then, he has been a lecturer in Applied
Geophysics in the same institution and has actively led the
development of the University’s GPR and electromagnetic research
activities. In 2003, Nigel became the Chairman of the
Environmental and Industrial Geophysics Group (EIGG), a
specialist group of the Geological Society, and is currently
involved in the promotion of U.K., near-surface geophysics both
nationally and overseas. His primary research interests are in
the development of mathematical modelling techniques and
dielectric testing methods for a wide range of GPR,
electromagnetic and geophysical applications. |
